The Future of Glamour Modeling by North West Model Agency

Glamour Modeling with North West Model Agency

North West Model Agency believes glamour modeling is on the rise. The popularity in magazine and coffee shop culture coupled with the rise of the internet has seen an explosion in the last few years of glamour modeling publications.

Glamour model publications appeal to both men and women and are usually associated with current celebrity fashion, gossip and products (from gadgets to shoes).

What is Glamour Modeling?

North West Model Agency considers glamour modeling to be just as important as any other modeling discipline. It is hard to define in any one sense which in some ways makes it harder to compare. Because of its lack of strict definition the competition for glamour modeling is just as intense as any other modeling role.

Glamour modeling concentrates on the model herself, rather than the clothes or products she is wearing. The advantage glamour modeling has over other forms is the lack of height, age, or weight restrictions. This makes it an ideal career for girls who do not fit the “sample” size required by fashion houses.

Success in glamour modeling is not always about looking the best or having the best body. Many other factors such as agency activity and personality count a lot.

Remember that glamour modeling can include just about anything. It is NOT just lingerie and certainly does not need to include nudity. Some of the defining glamour photos out there are because the model is NOT revealing anything.

Technology in Glamour Modeling

With the onset of digital photography it is possible to get very high definition (commonly called Ultra High Quality or UHQ) glamour photos almost instantly.

Because North West Model Agency use the most up to date technology UHQ glamour photos turn around can be very quick. Combine this with North West Model Agency’s state of the art graphic studio, images can be blended, altered and emailed for a printed or online publication in minutes.

North West Model Agency’s studio can also deal with new media and the internet. This is the fastest growing area of glamour modeling, and one which many ‘old school’ models and photographers do not understand. North West Model Agency can guide you through the advantages of having an online portfolio and how to promote your image. It’s to our advantage that we make our models as well known as possible!

Pitfalls of Glamour Modeling

Make sure your modeling agency and photographer are reputable. North West Model Agency vets it’s photographers before using them and will insist upon a client brief (so you know what you will be doing) before shoots and a chaperone during shoots.

Also be aware that many modeling agencies will charge you to make a portfolio on the pretence of work, though they never have any intention of giving you any assignments.

North West Model Agency will not charge you for a glamour portfolio. They may refer you on to a preferred professional photographer if you wish to have glamour photography added.

Glamour modeling competition is intense and North West Model Agency knows it is not always easy. We will assign you to the most suitable role and will always make sure you are comfortable with the assignment before you undertake it.

We ask all our models to fill out a North West Model Agency Feedback form when they have completed an assignment, so we constantly monitor our clients and models expectations.

As with all modeling glamour modeling is not easy. North West Model Agency advises all want to be glamour models to really think about the lifestyle it involves. Travel is inevitable though sometimes great fun. Although the ideal place for an assignment is a warm studio or a sunny beach it is always worth remembering that some of the best shots out there were taken on a cold day with bad weather looming.

Future of Glamour Modeling

North West Model Agency believes the future of glamour modeling lies very much in cyber space.

Glamour modeling is changing, make no mistake it has to if it is to survive. Glamour modeling has languished in the prehistoric age for far too long. This can be partially attributed to the industry being formed on the old print press method of publication (calendars, magazines, tabloids). It is no secret that print is in decline and many modeling agencies are missing out on the new media and an increase in broadband access.

North West Model Agency is highly experienced in online promotion and the use of photographic material on the internet.

North West Model Agency’s one stop shop approach to glamour modeling is a fantastic starting point for potential and experienced glamour models alike.

Conclusion

If you’re fun loving, outgoing, and cannot do (or simply not interested) in other forms of modeling it is possible make a career from Glamour Modeling.

North West Model Agency’s approach is honest and open, but remember that you’ll need to have a thick skin to survive in glamour modeling.

Want to be a model, then you need to be properly prepared

Posted by – January 15, 2010

We often get aspiring models coming into the shop looking for lingerie for a ’shoot’, looking for something that will give them that particular look, whatever the look might be. Girls looking to model in one of the lads mags, such as Nuts or Zoo look for something that emphasizes their assets, with sexy bras, often padded, usually a cup size too small, so that their boobs look like they are ready to jump out. Models who are putting a portfolio together for fashion and lingerie modelling often go for something more sophisticated and properly fitted, as they know that the market they want to work in, is aimed at a primarily female audience. I read recently some advice given to aspiring models from a professional photographer who talked about models needing to using their acting ability and their figure as their trade. So when putting a portfolio together it is important that you research the trends as to the latest fashions and invest wisely in outfits that will complement your figure and fashion lingerie that is properly fitted. What you are looking for is something that makes you look more attractive through what you are wearing not something that takes away from your natural looks. If you want to succeed as a model you need to be prepared to make an investment in what you wear for your portfolio shoot. To quote the photographer, ‘a couple of ropy padded bras from the supermarket just won’t do it’. So shop wisely, be fitted professionally for your bra, have your hair and make up professionally done and then get your photographs taken. Good luck.

Valentine’s Day Gift Advice for Men Who Hate Shopping

Posted by – January 15, 2010

Men, we know it is not easy buying a gift for Valentine’s Day. You don’t know what to buy and aren’t sure about the right size or style. Don’t you wish you could take a woman with you when picking out that special present? Look no further. I’m here to help with a few tips and pointers to guide you toward buying the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day.1. Remember that this is an opportunity to tell her you care.Valentine’s Day is just one more opportunity to tell her how you feel about her. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get something she’ll love. Just be romantic and thoughtful. A beautiful bouquet of flowers, while seemingly unoriginal, is always sure to please. Women love getting flowers, especially when coupled with a gift that tells her you remember something special about your relationship. For example, is there a picture of the two of you that she loves? Frame it and give it to her. When was the last time that you went back to the restaurant you took her to on your first date? Why not go and recreate the evening. Just knowing that you remember these details and that you care enough to memorialize them is a gift in and of itself.2. Buy her something she wants but wouldn’t buy for herself. There are some items that we would love to have but can’t justify buying for ourselves because the item is too expensive or just seems frivolous. However, that doesn’t mean YOU can’t buy it for us! Has she been stressed at work or taking care of the kids? Why not get her a massage or a day at the spa to help her relax. Or how about buying her a really soft pair of shearling-lined bedroom slippers or super comfortable pajamas? A few more items we really like, but might not buy for ourselves include:- a beautiful sterling picture frame- pair of small diamond “huggie” earrings- a totally impractical pair of designer shoes or a designer handbag (for a real splurge) - any other item she’s been eyeing or talking about a lot, but hasn’t purchased3. Remember that a gift doesn’t have to be something she wearsSometimes the gifts we love most are those that beautify our home or further a hobby or interest we have. Does she love to cook? Why not get enroll her in a cooking class. Better yet, why not bring in a personal chef to cook a meal for the two of you. A woman who loves photography might enjoy a beautiful coffee table book by a famous photographer she admires or two tickets to a photography exhibit at the Art Museum. Think outside the box and look to her interests. There are plenty of original and interesting gifts you can buy that won’t invoke the wrong size, wrong style dilemma.4. Be spontaneousDo not underestimate the power of spontaneity. Is there a restaurant she’s been wanting to try, a show she’s been wanting to see or a bed and breakfast she’s been wanting to go to? Surprise her with a night out or a weekend away. You’ll get a lot of points for your thoughtfulness, forethought, and attention to detail.5. Unless you know what scent she likes, avoid perfume Likely Page Break I honestly think that perfume, and other scented items, might be among the most difficult gifts to buy and the ones that are most fraught with the potential for error. Everyone reacts differently to different scents and if you don’t know what kind of scent your woman likes (sweet, spicy, flowery, fruity, etc), you might be walking into a land mine trying to buy perfume. The same advice holds true for scented candles and reed diffusers. We love all of these items, but before embarking, please look at her perfume bottles and candles and give them a smell. Try and stay in that same aroma range. You don’t want to buy a very sweet smelling perfume or candle for someone who prefers a more musky scent.

6. If buying lingerie, remember that she needs to feel good about herself in itLingerie spans the gamut. Remember that this is supposed to be a gift for her – not for you (although you will benefit as well). So make sure and buy her something that she’ll love and feel comfortable and sexy in. This requires taking her body shape and personal style into consideration. There are a few articles on MenHATEshopping.com that can guide you into selecting the right piece of lingerie for a specific body type.Men, at the end of the day, you know your woman best. Always remember who she is, her interests and likes, when picking out a gift for Valentine’s Day or any occasion. Still need more help? Posted by – January 14, 2010

Giving the gift of a tastefully sexy calendar or glamour photo album of yourself to your loved one is a great way to express how much you care for them. It also seems to be one of the favorite ways wives and girlfriends remind their guys overseas what they are fighting for. As a head photographer of the prestigious Miami Photo Studio Kendall Portraits, I know that being photographed for intimate photography can be intimidating, but finding the right photo studio with a vast experience about how to making you look glamorous through artistic lighting and the right posing will help. Here are some basic tips to make your glamour photography experience very comfortable and fun for you and create your beautiful and exciting images that you will love forever!

If you are dreaming about a glamour coffee table book with lovely imagery of yourself as you see in magazines such as Glamour or Playboy, this Holiday Season is time to make it true. Glamour photography make great sexy holiday gifts to the loved ones. Nothing says “I Love You” like a glamour photo book. You don’t need to be a top glamour model to create exceptional glamour photography. An imaginative inner spirit, the perfect lighting and the expertise of our glamour photographers is all that you need. You can be the focus of a sensuous glamour photoshoot to illustrate a coffee table book because glamour photography is for everyone!. You can even be a sexy calendar girl!.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a centerfold body!.The glamour photographer of a photo studio must to know how to “glamorize” all body shapes knowing how to hide the flaws which we all have.

Start by checking the glamour photographer’s portfolio for artistic nude, glamour nude, boudoir, pinup and glamourous maternity like at Miami Glamour Photo Studio, or Kendall Portraits. May be it will inspire some ideas for your own session. During the glamour photo shoot express your originality, the sexy and glamourous side of you, or daring, or naughty, or somewhere in between. Be whatever you want to be, pure fantasy or reality or somewhere in between!.

You can also use your own props that have a special meaning such as a musical instrument, a favorite flower, hat, or sexy shoes. Wear a treasured outfit such as wedding garb, your significant other’s favorite shirt, sexy new lingerie or a particular article of clothing that will bring back fond memories. Or wear nothing at all.

Draft with the glamour photographer about your loved one’s dream fantasy to recreate it in a tasteful way. During your glamour photoshoot explore several looks and feels. This is the moment to unleash that inner sexy goddess, vintage retro pinup girl, rockabilly chick, or Hollywood starlet. So whoever she is in there, let bring her out. Dream up your imagination with some glamourous photo ideas like:

Intimate photos are a perfect gift for Holidays and also a terrific way to remember major events such as milestone birthdays, reaching weight loss and physical fitness goals, new relationships, pregnancy and post pregnancy (when you are at your most voluptuous). And best of all, they make you feel beautiful. You don’t have to have a reason to have your glamour portrait made but these portraits make an excellent gift he will truly love. You can give your loved one a glamour photo calendar or a sexy intimate coffe table book as a sexy Christmas gift or just any reason to say “I Love You.”

I (Used To) Hate Gift Shopping For Men

Fabulous Boudoir Photography

Or

I (Used to) Hate Gift Shopping for Men

Or

Never Buy Him Socks Again

Ok, ladies.  It’s that time again:  Valentines, Father’s Day, anniversary, or-shudder-his birthday.  And-since we generally want to make sure we receive fabulous gifts when our turn comes around, we HAVE to get a gift!  (Ok-and maybe LOVE comes into the picture too.)  But what to get?  He doesn’t need another shirt-and fancy watches are SO Pre-Recession.   Well, I have an idea for you that will knock his socks off– those same socks you bought him on his LAST birthday.

Are you ready?  Boudoir photography.  No-I’m serious.  Yes, of course of you.

Picture it:  you present him with a fabulous image box with a large bow on it.  The glamorous heels on the front cover look just like a pair you happen to own, so he’s curious.  He opens the lid slowly-and he quite literally is speechless.    It’s you!  And you’re fabulous-and sexy-and wearing the hottest outfit he’s ever seen.  He can’t believe his eyes!  After relishing each and every image, he looks back up at you.  And-well, I’ll let you finish the rest of the story.

A boudoir photography session is great fun.  You’ll be creating a private gift that will be a special secret that only the two of you will share-unless, of course, you just HAVE to show all of your girlfriends.  You can wear fabulous lingerie or some other sexy outfit and your photographer can use creative posing and fantastic lighting to make you look absolutely glamorous.  Boudoir photography is not nude photography-although it is often nude appearing.  To add sensuality to the session, use beautiful wraps and several fun props.  Use your imagination, and think about some of your man’s interests.  In the past, gals have used guitars, cowboy hats, footballs, jerseys, parts of a military uniform, boas, flowers, and even a camel whip!

Now, if you are thinking you would be too modest/shy/totally freaked out to lounge around in front of anyone, don’t worry.  Do, however, look around for an established and respected professional studio.  (DO NOT reply to the creepy GWC (guy with camera) that took an ad out on Craig’s List.)

So now what?  Well, you might need to go buy a new pair of heels-or dig that sexy nightie out of the drawer.  Do some research.  Find a local photographer. Check out the fab photos on www.StilettosPhotography.com. Then, book a session.  Sure, you’re going to thank your photographer, but not as well as Your Man is going to thank YOU.

Trends: Stock Photos Include Wedding Photography

Posted by – January 13, 2010

About 2.4 million couples get married in the U.S. each year, averaging $20,000 per wedding. It is a $70 billion business.

New developments in technology over the last decade have enabled processes that now produce fast and inexpensive on-demand production and distribution for a variety of products and services. During the Digital Revolution in the 1990s there was a rapid drop in costs and expanded power of digital devices including digital cameras.

Today, photographers have mastered the art form of digital photography, which allows clients much greater flexibility and artistic style for their cherished images which can be placed in digital photo frames, on websites and shared via iPods, handhelds, and on the Internet.

Media outlets have also had to change the way they do business in view of the Internet and online publishing, including the use of stock images as opposed to high-budget editorial productions. With the evolution of computers and the Internet futurists predict that by 2025 about four billion people will be doing Internet commerce.(Source: James Canton’s book, The Extreme Future.)

More and more photographers are adding stock photo websites and the latest trends includes cutting edge wedding images with wedding reception photos, beach wedding photos, celebrity stock photos, the green wedding, photos of wedding reception decorations, wedding fashions, scenes of brides, getting ready, bridesmaids, grooms, groomsmen, the bridal party, flowers, receptions, ceremonies, the toast, cake cutting, dancing and departures.

Photographers can share a voice through images that provide a unique take on trends and how they are shaping weddings of the future. The tremendous growth in online advertising has caused many to launch wedding stock photo websites that are communicating and connecting contemporary audiences online. Stock photography saves money on skyrocketing and extravagant production costs.

“Wedding images is a marketplace in itself, and it’s important to offer those seeking wedding stock images a wide variety. Today’s wedding ceremonies are often in unusual venues such as spas, museums, zoos and gardens. And today’s green weddings provide images of environmentally friendly flowers, beach wedding photos, table d?r and hybrid cars and limos,” said award-winning photo journalist, John Unrue.

Images might include food, fashions, flowers, gifts churches, lingerie, and even travel shots, which can all be used on other websites and in magazines. There are also countless opportunities to shoot close-up images of family, friends and loved ones sharing moments that reflect timeless expressions that can be adapted to satisfy many other categories for websites or editorial image requirements.

Kristin Gabriel handles marketing communications for John J. Unrue Photography and www.unrueweddingstock.com. Unrue is the preferred house for wedding photos, celebrity photos, professional athletes, high-society and corporate executives requiring both photography excellence and discreet professionalism. Unrue’s work has graced the pages of high-end publications such as Martha Stewart Weddings, Elegant Bride and Modern Bride magazines.

Creativity & Quality in Photography

Photography, as a business resource, is now captivating slightly. Beside of so many wide-opened opportunities, it moves forward along with the equipments becoming more affordable. Compared to the era when digital camera has not existed, nowadays many hobbyists become businesspersons. Many of them can even afford their lives from their businesses. Meanwhile, internet has been supportive in the means of promotion. When there are many who are now being involved in such activity, competitiveness becomes the consequences. This phenomenon is considered natural in open markets, and at the same time, quality is major due to attracting customers. In photography business, not only services that need consistency, but also the products; namely photos. To keep up with the competition, competitive pricings obviously take place. What You Pay Is What You Get Business fields are fairly various in photography, such as fashion, advertising, still life to wedding photography, or it is more commonly known as pre-wedding/wedding photography. The last one mentioned is the most promising at least, from my point of view. In this most promising business, competition goes impermeably from the healthy one to the unhealthy. The healthy one is not a problem, but the other; it results unfavorable circumstances. One example, when I was offering a pre-wedding price above Rp 5 millions, so many photographers offered pricing below Rp 1 million. Phew! It also happened when I was in a photography pitching in one hospital. It was not for the entire parts of the building only a shot taken in an examination room with the equipments. I offered more than ten millions rupiahs, while there were so many people gave out only couple of hundred thousands rupiahs. Oh my God, what kinna equipments they used! That is the reality, and it even happens up to now. Admittedly, I did that too in the past, but it ended in regret. So, get rid of it. I think, that kind of predatory pricing strategy that undermines or eliminates the existing competition is more disadvantaging than benefiting. If you are a client, you might doubt on the services and products quality. While if you are a photographer, you might not get proper profits because of your low pricing. As a result, your business will not survive. It might even undergo collapse. Most important thing to remember is that photography business is one among so many creative works, where creativity is valuable. Thus, it is not cheap. Customers or clients will understand this if they put quality on the front row. Trust me. I often tell my clients whose “hobby” is bargaining, “What you pay is what you get.” This means, I give him creativity and quality responsibly as how much he pays me. Various Experiences Beside of doing business, I have some unique and interesting experiences accompany me and my team, of course. I have experienced a couple of easygoing clients (for pre-wedding photography). Their main concern was to make photos for their albums, not more. They did not acquire something luxurious. For us, this was fun. We use two scheduled days to relax, have karaoke, play ping-pong and take a nap. I regret the one that was taken place in Perth, Australia a pre-wedding too. We were there when winter was about to come. As a result, from 21 spots that I had prepared, only 10 that were granted. Meanwhile, something funny happened when I was casting models for a lingerie product. The client was involved at that time. Unfortunately, the model agency forgot to tell the model that she would only wear two pieces. What did happen next? When the model took off her clothes, the next thing we saw – 1st piece and 2nd piece was a rainbow. Ups! But then, the show must go on. Not only casting for models, we had done it for dogs too. This one was for a pet food product. My misfortune was that the dog was aggressive and bigger than me. As a result, it ran after the photographer. My bad luck!

Boudoir Photography – A Way to Capture Timeless Sexuality through Beautiful Pictures

Posted by – January 12, 2010

Let’s face it, women struggle with self-esteem issues. This is especially true as we age, have our children, see our bodies change, and our relationships grow comfortable.  The young girl we once were who spent her paychecks at the mall, had hours to primp before a date, and felt “hot” can almost seem like someone else.  With the sexy shoes set aside for flip flops, yoga pants in lieu of tight jeans, and a schedule full of play-dates it’s easy to forget she’s still inside.  Over time and with an increasing emphasis on other people and different things, many women stop feeling like they’re sexy.  However, sometimes all that they need is a good reminder. One of the best, most tangible ways of showing them not only is that girl still there but age and experience has made her sexier and better than ever, is through the beauty of boudoir photography.

Boudoir photography offers an artistic and tangible way that women can see for themselves that they are still sensual and gorgeous.  When a woman is confronted with her own image where she can see herself looking undeniably beautiful it can be a tremendous boost to her self-confidence and reawaken her sexuality.  These pictures are taken by knowing professionals, who use lighting to highlight and flatter the very best of a women’s beauty.  Often times, women posing for boudoir photography have had a make-up artist and hair stylist help them prepare for their pictures, which both enhances their beauty and is a fun, feminine pampering experience.  Cherly K., a woman from Cincinnati, OH who went to a boudoir photography session with friends commented, “I think what you’re doing for women is absolutely fabulous.  The four of us came out of there feeling like a million bucks.  We all shared our pictures you sent yesterday and kept telling each other how amazing we all are!  Thank you for that!  It’s nice to feel pretty and to be reminded that you still have it!” There does not leave much room for self-doubt, when a women looks at an actual picture where even she has to admit, she looks incredible.  Heather Walker is the principal photographer and owner of Columbus Boudoir Photography (www.columbusboudoir.com), a fully-scale studio located in Powell, OH which attracts women throughout the Columbus metropolitan area and the state of Ohio.  She is also renowned for her national boudoir photography and has seen the reaction of countless women to their pictures. Heather says, “I love to see the woman’s face when we show her the final images! Her expression is priceless. I say to her yes…that is YOU!  You look amazing.”

Boudoir photography shouldn’t be considered a one-time event.  What woman doesn’t want (or need) continual reinforcement that’s she looks great?  Taking such beautiful pictures can be a very personal and powerful way to document a woman’s sexuality and an exciting way to keep things sexy and fresh for her partner. At a professional studio, the process of taking the pictures itself can be surprisingly fun for women. Studios such as Columbus Boudoir Photography ensure that a woman feels completely comfortable in the environment and discuss ahead of time the type of concerns she may have with her appearance.  The photographer emphasizes the very best of each woman’s body and creates a look and feel to the photographs that reflect her taste and desires.  Some women enjoy portraying timeless and tasteful turn of the century courtesans, others like a saucy 1950’s pin-up, while many choose to channel their inner lingerie model, or simply pose in their boyfriend’s football jersey.  As women’s tastes and interests change, so can her pictures.  A college girl may enjoy a different feel to her pictures than would a young mother or a mature woman. The beauty of boudoir photography is that it can reflect many stages of the sensual female experience. Boudoir photography isn’t just for a one-time benefit to the bedroom but enables a woman to feel good forever and is truly a beautiful testament to her timeless sexuality.

Contrary to popular perceptions, you do not have to be tall and thin to become a photo model. If you want to model, you do not have to lose all of your fat for you to become famous. What is more, modeling is not limited to ramp and fashion modeling only. There are various kinds of models. The most sought-after type of job would be the opportunity to sashay around in designer clothes. The next type of model is one who poses for commercials, ads, billboards, or catalogues. If you belong to this category, you are not required to lose weight to fit into dresses. On the other hand, showroom or fit models try on the sample clothing of designers for the sake of the clients and the designer. The last type of modeling category is artistic or fetish modeling. If you want to land this kind of job, you have to listen carefully the photographer because fetish shootings require a lot of acting and details.

Glamour or fetish models should be 18 years old and above. This is due to the fact that there will be instances wherein they will be asked to pose nude or wearing sexy clothing. Glamour photography usually involves a little nudity, while there are some women who are asked to pose wearing lingerie. When it comes to fetish images, there is an inclusion of leather garments, nylon stockings, tight corsets, or latex clothes. This type of modeling can be both exciting and demanding. Fetish modeling is appropriate for girls who are brave enough to act out erotic role playing. What is more, this is suitable for women who are blessed with flawless and nice curvy bodies since they will be wearing sexy outfits.
